All photography by Ryan Cummings Photography is protected from copying, scanning, reproduction or printing under Federal Law. It is ILLEGAL to copy, scan, reproduce or print these photographs anywhere without the Studio's/Photographer's express and written permission, and violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties.

Many of our wedding packages include a copyright license, which means you will have the right to use the images and print them for your family's needs whenever and wherever you would like. Please call for details on which packages and images are included. All images and copyright license are delivered after the wedding day.

What is a copyright?
A copyright gives its owner the right to copy, distribute, publicly display or create derivative works from the original work. A copyright also gives its owner the right to license those rights to others.

When is the image copyrighted?
The images are copyrighted automatically from the moment they are create.

How long does a copyright last?
The current copyright term is the life of the creator plus 70 years – or, for works “created” by a corporation, 95 years.

Who owns the copyright to an image?
The creator of the image is the copyright holder. That is the photographer if he is independent or the company he works for if he is an employee.

Can a copyright be transferred?
Yes, but in order to be considered valid, a copyright transfer or license must be done in writing.
